A journalist was found murdered under the Khan Jahan Ali Bridge, commonly known as Rupsha Bridge, in Khulna on Sunday evening. Police recovered the body from the basement of the bridge’s pillar number 2 around 7:00 pm.
The deceased was identified as Wahed-uz-Zaman Bulu, a senior staff reporter at Dainik Sangbad Pratidin.
Sub-Inspector Bellah Hossain of the Khulna River Police Rupsha Outpost told reporters that Bulu was wearing blue gabardine pants and a sky-blue T-shirt. His right hand and face were reportedly mutilated. He was identified through his voter ID card found in his pocket.
Bulu had worked in journalism for nearly three decades, contributing to various media outlets including Channel One, Bhorer Kagoj, Bangabani, and Dainik Probaho.
He resided in his ancestral home near Shibbari intersection in Khulna city and was a member of the Khulna Press Club, Khulna Journalists’ Union (KUJ), and the Bangladesh Federal Union of Journalists (BFUJ).
