The council of advisers has approved the Telecommunication Networking Licence Policy 2025, clearing the way for a new regulatory framework in the country’s telecom sector.
The policy was endorsed at a meeting of the council of advisers held on Thursday, September 4, at the Chief Adviser’s Office in Tejgaon, Dhaka, with Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus in the chair.
Briefing reporters at the Foreign Service Academy later in the day, Faiz Ahmed Tayyab, Special Assistant to the Chief Adviser on Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology, confirmed the approval.
The policy is expected to play a key role in streamlining licensing procedures, enhancing competition, and ensuring better service delivery in Bangladesh’s rapidly growing telecom industry.
