The US has deported 30 more Bangladeshi nationals in handcuffs and shackles.
A special chartered aircraft carrying them reached Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on Thursday night, September 4.
The returnees were in handcuffs and shackles before reaching the arrival area. No one was allowed to approach them and take their photos there.
Officials of various agencies working at the airport said the aircraft landed on runway around 11:00pm and was there for three hours when their handcuffs and shackles were removed and at about 2:00am on Friday, they were brought to the arrival area with strict security.
At that time, a special team from the Ministry of Home Affairs, a special of several intelligence agencies and officials from US Embassy in Dhaka were present.
Operations to deport illegal immigrants from US have been intensified after Donald Trump came into power for the second term.
In continuation of this, nationals of various countries, including Bangladesh, are being sent back to their home in phases, with at least 180 Bangladeshis deported in last a few months.
