Pakistan HC meets Jamaat amir in Dhaka

 

Pakistan’s High Commissioner to Bangladesh, Imran Haider, paid a courtesy visit to Dr Shafiqur Rahman, Amir of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, at his residence in Bashundhara, Dhaka, on Tuesday.

The two sides held a cordial and wide-ranging discussion on matters of mutual interest between Bangladesh and Pakistan.

Both expressed hope that the fraternal ties between the two nations would grow stronger in the years ahead, building on their shared historical and cultural connections.

Dr Shafiqur Rahman welcomed the High Commissioner and underscored the importance of enhancing people-to-people contacts, economic cooperation, and regional collaboration.

He also emphasised the need for stronger diplomatic engagement to foster mutual understanding and long-term stability.

The meeting was attended by several senior leaders of Jamaat-e-Islami, including Nayeb-e-Amir Dr Syed Abdullah Md Taher, Assistant Secretary General and Head of the Central Publicity and Media Department Advocate Ehsanul Mahbub Zubair, and Amir’s Foreign Affairs Adviser, Professor Dr Mahmudul Hasan.

On the Pakistani side, Kamran Dhangal, Political Counselor at the Pakistan High Commission, accompanied High Commissioner Imran Haider.

The discussion concluded on a positive note, with both sides reaffirming their commitment to deepening bilateral relations based on mutual respect and shared values.
