The much-anticipated preliminary examinations of the Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS) for job seekers have commenced.
The exam started simultaneously at 256 centers across the country at 10:00 am on Friday and will continue until 12:00 pm. Through this examination, many graduates secure first-class government jobs, making it a highly competitive event.
A total of 374,747 candidates are expected to participate in the exam across eight divisional cities, including Dhaka. A morning visit to several exam centers in the capital revealed that candidates began entering the centers from around 8:30 am, while their guardians waited outside after the exam began.
Before the exam, several candidates shared their thoughts. Jannatul Sultana, a recent graduate from Dhaka University, said, “I have just completed my honours degree, and this is my first job-related exam. Naturally, I’m a bit nervous. I couldn’t prepare as much as I wanted, but I consider participating in this competition an important experience.”
Rafid Karim, appearing at the Hazaribagh Government College exam centre, said, “My preparation is good, but the number of competitors far exceeds the number of posts. Still, I am hopeful and expect good results.”
