The Indian Border Security Force (BSF) pushed 16 people into Bangladesh through the Patnitola border in Naogaon. The Bangladesh Border Guard (BGB) detained them near the border early Friday morning (September 19) and later handed them over to the Patnitola police station.
Major Asrarul Haque, acting commander of the BGB’s 14th Patnitola Battalion, confirmed the incident. He said that early in the morning, the BSF pushed 16 people into Bangladesh near Border Pillar 254/1-S of the Shitalmath BOP under the BGB’s Patnitola Battalion. Later, a BGB patrol team detained them near a tea shop along the paved road in Ghurki village.
Among the detainees were seven men, five children, and four women, all residents of Pabna district.
