Jamaat-e-Islami Secretary General Mia Golam Parwar has condemned the statement of BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir that the party sought the allocation of 30 parliamentary seats from the BNP was utterly untrue, and vengeful.
Parwar made the remarks in a statement issued on Tuesday, September 23.
"What Mirza Fakhrul told the Kolkata based daily 'Ei Samay' in an interview about the Jamaat-e-Islami is completely untrue, disrespectful, and vengeful. If he actually made such statement, then, we are forced to protest and condemn this," reads the statement.
Besides, Jamaat-e-Islami unequivocally calls upon Mirza Fakhrul to present the proof supporting his claim that the party demanded 30 seats from the BNP, said the statement.
“If he fails to show evidence in favour of his claim, we will urge him to accept the truth and offer a public apology,” the statement reads.
