A gazette notification listing 115 symbols for political parties and independent candidates has been issued ahead of the 13th national parliamentary election. The notification, signed by Election Commission (EC) Senior Secretary Akhtar Ahmed, was released on Wednesday (September 24).
The gazette shows that the Shapla (Water Lily) symbol, sought by the National Citizen Party (NCP), is not included. Meanwhile, the symbol of the Bangladesh Awami League, whose registration is suspended, appears with the word “suspended” next to the Boat symbol.
