The expatriate Bangladeshis sent around $2.68 billion or $268.58 crore in remittances in September, the third month of the current fiscal year 2025-26.
The amount is $28.17 crore more than that of the same period of the last FY 2024-25 when the country received $240.41 crore remittance, according to latest data from the Bangladesh bank.
Around $195.46 crore remittances came through private banks, and $46.68 crore came via state-owned banks, while a specialised bank received $25.82 crore and foreign banks received $62.40 lakh, the data showed.
The expatriates sent $758.57 crore from July 1 to September 30 in the current FY, which is $104.66 crore compared to the same period of the last FY when the country witnessed $653.91 crore in remittances.
