3 more die from dengue, 700 hospitalised in 24 hrs

Three more deaths were reported from dengue in the last 24 hours, taking the total number of fatalities from the mosquito-borne disease to 220 this year.

Of the new deaths, one was reported in Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) and two in Dhaka North City Corporation (DSCC).

During the period, 700 more patients were hospitalised with the viral fever, raising the total cases to 52,104 to date this year, the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) said in a statement today (October 8).

Of the new cases, 105 were recorded in Barishal division (Out of CC), 61 in Chattogram division (Out of CC), 149 in Dhaka division (Out of CC), 155 in Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC), and 110 in Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC)

Besides, 45 new cases were recorded in Khulna division (Out of CC), 33 in Mymensingh division (Out of CC), 31 in Rajshahi division (Out of CC), six in Rangpur division (Out of CC), and five in Sylhet division (Out of CC).
