This year, no student passed in 202 educational institutions across the country in the Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent examinations, meaning the pass rate in these institutions was zero. Last year, in 2024, the number of institutions with a 100% failure rate was 65. This year, that number rose to 202, an increase of 137 institutions.
Meanwhile, more than five lakh students failed the examinations, with 41.17 percent of examinees unable to pass. The overall pass rate across the country’s 11 education boards—including nine general, one technical, and one Madrasah board—stood at 58.83 percent this year, down from 77.78 percent in 2024, a decrease of 18.95 percentage points.
A total of 1,251,111 students registered for the examinations, including 618,015 male students and 633,096 female students. The exams were conducted across 2,797 centres nationwide, with nearly 27,000 students absent.
