The newly elected Vice President of the Rajshahi University Central Students' Union (RUCSU), Mostaqur Rahman Zahid, has pledged to work with all students, including those who lost in the election.
Speaking in front of the Kazi Nazrul Islam auditorium shortly after the RUCSU election results announced on Friday morning, Zahid urged winners to celebrate their victory peacefully, showing respect to religious practices, and focus on fulfilling the students’ mandate.
“Victory and defeat are natural in elections. We will all build this campus together,” he said.
The newly elected General Secretary Salahuddin Ammar echoed Zahid’s reassurance.
“The students have elected me because they believe I can work for them. I am truly grateful,” he said.
He also expressed gratitude to student activists who have long campaigned for student rights at the university.
“There are no enemies on this campus — everyone is our fellow fighter. Together, we will create a dream campus and protect the rights of the students,” Ammar said.
