A man was killed and at least 30 others were injured in a clash between two groups of people in Brahmanbaria's Sadar on Saturday morning, October 25.
The deceased was identified as Md Nasir Uddin, 65, a resident of Birampur village in the upazila.
According to the police, Harun Mia, a former chairman and resident of Birampur village, had been loggerheads with same villager Sachchu over establishing supremacy in the locality. In continuation of this, the men of both groups equipped with locally made arms clashed for around three hours, leaving a man from Sachchu group dead.
Being informed, the police rushed to the spot and brought the situation under control, Sadar police station's officer-in-charge Azharul Islam said, adding that additional police persoonel have been deployed to the area to avert further clash.
