4 more die from dengue, 1,143 hospitalised in 24 hrs

Four more deaths were reported from dengue in the last 24 hours, taking the total number of fatalities from the mosquito-borne disease to 263 so far this year.

Of the new deaths, two were reported in Barishal division (Out of CC), one was recorded in Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC), and another in Rajshahi division (Out of CC).

During the period, 1,143 more patients were hospitalised with the viral fever, raising the total cases to 65,440 to date this year, the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) said in a statement today (October 26).

Of the new cases, 186 were recorded in Barishal division (Out of CC), 121 in Chattogram division (Out of CC), 282 in Dhaka division (Out of CC), 165 in Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC), and 154 in Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC).

Besides, 65 new cases were recorded in Khulna division (Out of CC), 56 in Mymensingh division (Out of CC), 56 in Rajshahi division (Out of CC), 50 in Rangpur division (Out of CC), and eight in Sylhet division (Out of CC).
