Metro rail service resumes on Motijheel-Shahbagh section

Considering passengers’ sufferings, authorities of the Dhaka Metro Rail resumed its services on the Motijheel-Shahbagh section on Sunday, October 26, following a suspension of about seven hours.

“We have resumed partial services of the metro rail on the Motijheel-Shahbagh section from 7:15pm,” according to the officials of Dhaka Mass Transit Company Ltd (DMTCL).

The authorities confirmed that services on the Uttara-Agargaon section were restored hours after the accident.

An officer of the metro authorities said experts were working to reinstall the bearing pad of the metro rail in Farmgate area.

According to metro rail authorities, the incident occurred around 12.15pm when a bearing pad used to prevent vibration during train movement came loose and fell on a pedestrian at Farmgate Station, killing a pedestrian on the spot.
