An aircraft of Regent Airways aborted take-off at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka this morning due to some technical glitch.
A regent official, seeking anonymity said the incident took place around 11:30am after an engine of the aircraft caught fire.
All the passengers, pilots and crews of the aircraft were evacuated safely.
The Regent Airways plane RX-784 has been kept for repairing works. The passengers continued their journey to Singapore with another aircraft which departed from the airport around 3:00pm.
Regent authorities blamed the incident on ‘technical glitch’ in a press release floated in this regard.
