Religious Affairs Adviser AFM Khalid Hossain has announced that the next year's Bishwa Ijtema will take place after the 13th parliamentary elections.
He made the announcement after a meeting with Tabligh Jamaat's two factions at his office at the Bangladesh Secretariat on Sunday, November 2.
Home Affairs Adviser Lt Gen (Retd) Jahangir Alam Chowdhury, Industry, and Housing and Public Works Adviser Adilur Rahman Khan, and Senior Secretary to the Ministry of Home Affairs Nasimul Gani were present at the meeting.
Specific dates of Bishwa Ijtema, the second largest congregation of Muslims after Hajj, will be fixed after discussing with both groups of Tabligh Jamaat, the adviser said.
