A Bangladesh Bank official has been missing since Sunday (November 9), and a general diary (GD) has been filed regarding his disappearance.
Sources said Nayeem Rahman, Deputy Director of the central bank, attended his office as usual on Sunday morning. However, after 12:00 pm, he left the office, leaving behind his bag and ID card, and has been out of contact since then. At 12:53 pm, he sent a message to a colleague indicating he was in severe mental distress. In the message, he requested help to arrange a job for his younger sister, adding, “this may be my last wish.”
According to mobile tracking, Nayeem was last located in the Syedabad area of Dhaka at 12:53 pm on Sunday. Since then, there has been no trace of him. Police are investigating his possible route based on mobile location data.
Masum Billah, President of the Bangladesh Bank Officers’ Welfare Council and Additional Director, said, “We are all searching for Nayeem. He is the only male member of his family. His mother, wife, daughter, and younger sister are waiting for him. We urge anyone who has seen him to contact the nearest police station or officials of Bangladesh Bank immediately.”
