Jamaat-e-Islami Secretary General Mia Golam Parwar has said the government's decision to hold the referendum and national elections on the same day did not fulfil people's expectations.
He said this in an immediate reaction at the party's Moghbazar central office in Dhaka on Thursday afternoon, November 13, following Chief Adviser's address to the nation at 2:30pm.
He said, "Chief Adviser's announcement to hold the referendum and national elections on the same day did not meet people's aspirations. Rather, it will create crisis if the polls and referendum are held on the same day."
"After duscussions on reforms for the last nine months, we eagerly waited the Chief Adviser will realize people's will but it did not happen," Parward added.
He also said the Jamaat will give its reaction in this regard later.
