Five more deaths were reported from dengue in the last 24 hours, taking the total number of fatalities from the mosquito-borne disease to 336 this year.
Of the new deaths, two were reported in Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC), two in Mymensingh Division (Out of CC), and one was recorded in Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC).
During the period, 1,139 more patients were hospitalised with the viral fever, raising the total cases to 84,997 to date this year, the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) said in a statement today (November 16).
Of the new cases, 181 were recorded in Barishal division (Out of CC), 141 in Chattogram division (Out of CC), 246 in Dhaka division (Out of CC), 182 in Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC), and 118 in Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC).
Besides, 119 new cases were recorded in Khulna division (Out of CC), 96 in Mymensingh division (Out of CC), 46 in Rajshahi division (Out of CC), nine in Rangpur division (Out of CC), and one in Sylhet division (Out of CC).
