Crude bombs explode outside adviser Rizwana’s residence

Two crude bombs – locally known as ‘cocktails’ – exploded on Saturday night in front of the residence of Environment, Forests, Climate Change and Water Resources Adviser Syeda Rizwana Hasan.

The incident took place in the capital’s Central Road area in Dhanmondi, causing panic among nearby residents.

Police and bomb disposal personnel rushed to the scene shortly after the blasts.

No casualties were reported, but law enforcement agencies have heightened security around the area.

Authorities say they are investigating the motive behind the explosions and reviewing CCTV footage to identify those responsible. The incident has raised concerns over security threats targeting high-profile government advisers.
