An assistant sub-inspector (ASI) of police was injured in a crude bomb explosion carried out by miscreants in front of Pallabi Police Station in the capital, Dhaka, on Wednesday night. The injured officer has been identified as Md Nur Islam.
The incident took place around 8:30pm. During the attack, two crude bombs exploded near the Sagufata Gate adjacent to the police station, followed by another blast in front of the station gate.
Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Deputy Commissioner (Media) Muhammad Talebur Rahman confirmed the matter.
He said unidentified miscreants hurled the crude bomb from the flyover to create panic and fled the scene on a motorcycle. ASI Nur Islam, who was on duty at the station gate, sustained injuries in the explosion. He is currently receiving treatment at a local hospital.
