A Dhaka court has fixed Thursday, November 27, to deliver its verdict against former prime minister Sheikh Hasina, her son Sajeeb Wazed Joy, and daughter Saima Wazed Putul in three separate cases filed over graft in acquiring government land in the Purbachal New Town Project.
Judge Mohammad Abdullah Al Mamun of Dhaka Special Judge Court-5 set the date on Sunday, November 23, after the prosecution and the defence concluded their arguments in the cases, Mainul Hasan, a lawyer for the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC), told Jago News.
Other accused in the cases filed by the ACC include Md Shahid Ullah Khandakar, former secretary to the Ministry of Housing and Public Works, its former additional secretary (administration) Quazi Wasi Uddin, former administrative officer Md Saiful Islam Sarkar, senior assistant secretary Purabi Goldar, and former RAJUK chairman Md Anisur Rahman Mia.
