Five more people died of dengue while 490 patients were hospitalised across the country in the past 24 hours, according to the Health Emergency Operation Center and Control Room of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
Among the five fatalities reported in the last day, one was from Dhaka North City Corporation, two from Dhaka South City Corporation, and two from Mymensingh Division outside city corporation areas.
In the past 24 hours, 490 dengue patients were admitted across Bangladesh, including 106 in Dhaka North City Corporation, 77 in Dhaka South City Corporation, 74 in Dhaka Division (outside city), 88 in Chattogram Division (outside city), 58 in Barishal Division (outside city), 38 in Khulna Division (outside city), 33 in Mymensingh Division (outside city), 18 in Rajshahi Division (outside city), 5 in Rangpur Division (outside city), and 3 in Sylhet Division (outside city).
In the same period, 640 patients were discharged from hospitals, bringing the total number of recoveries in 2025 to 93,836.
For context, in 2024, Bangladesh reported 101,214 dengue cases with 575 deaths, while in 2023, the country recorded a record 321,179 cases and 1,705 deaths.
