Looks like Miley Cyrus won’t have to buy herself flowers for much longer as she is officially off the market.
The three-time Grammy-winning singer is engaged to musician Maxx Morando, her partner of nearly four years, according to a report from People published on Tuesday.
The news follows the couple’s red carpet appearance at the Los Angeles premiere of Avatar: Fire and Ash on Monday, where Cyrus was spotted wearing a sparkling diamond ring on her left hand—sparking immediate speculation. The ring, confirmed by Vogue to be a custom piece by celebrity jeweller Jacquie Aiche, features a cushion-cut diamond set in a 14-karat yellow gold band. Aiche’s clientele includes stars such as Taylor Swift and Selena Gomez.
Representatives for both Cyrus and Morando have not yet responded to requests for comment from HuffPost, but sources close to the couple confirm the engagement.
Morando, the drummer for Los Angeles rock band Liily, has been romantically linked to Cyrus since late 2021. Their relationship went public in April 2022, when they were photographed sharing a kiss in West Hollywood. Later that year, Morando joined his bandmates on NBC’s Miley’s New Year’s Eve Party, a holiday special hosted by the pop icon herself.
Cyrus, who was previously married to actor Liam Hemsworth, has spoken warmly of Morando in recent interviews. In a 2024 conversation with Harper’s Bazaar, she praised their creative and personal synergy: “He’s very similar to me. We just don’t take life too seriously.” She also revealed they’d been working together in the studio on her latest album, Something Beautiful.
In a candid September interview with The Cut, Cyrus added, “Maxx means a lot to me and treats me really well and respects me. I had to learn that the hard way… then I had to learn the right way by myself.”
