The Additional Superintendent of Police of Cumilla District, Md. Shamim Quddus Bhuiyan, has been temporarily suspended from government service for failing to join his new posting at the Dinajpur In-Service Training Centre.
The notification was issued on Thursday (4 December) by the Police-1 branch of the Ministry of Home Affairs and signed by Senior Secretary Nasimul Ghani.
According to the notification, Shamim was transferred to the Dinajpur In-Service Training Centre on 20 August this year but did not report to his new post and has remained absent from his office.
Failure to report to a transferred workplace in defiance of a lawful order constitutes misconduct under government employee regulations. As he is accused of misconduct under the Government Servants (Discipline and Appeal) Rules, he has been temporarily suspended from his position, effective from 20 August.
During the suspension period, Shamim will be attached to the office of the Barisal Range DIG and will receive a subsistence allowance as per regulations.
