Professor Dr. Muhammad Yunus, Chief Adviser of the interim government, said on Thursday that police officers for 64 districts were selected by lottery to oversee the historic post-uprising elections.
He added, “Our goal was to ensure there was no bias. If left to individual discretion, partiality often creeps in despite all efforts.”
Speaking at the Chief Adviser’s office in Tejgaon while addressing district police superintendents and other senior officials, he emphasised that this election is not an ordinary one but the first election following the people’s uprising.
