An application seeking the appointment of a foreign lawyer has been filed before the International Crimes Tribunal-1 (ICT-1) to represent former Prime Minister’s Adviser Salman F. Rahman and former Law Minister Anisul Huq.
The petition was formally moved on Wednesday, December 10, in the ongoing case accusing them and others of crimes against humanity committed during the July–August 2024 movement that led to the fall of Sheikh Hasina’s regime.
Both Salman F Rahman and Anisul Huq are currently in custody and have already been formally charged by ICT-1 in connection with alleged mass killings, enforced disappearances, and widespread suppression during the student-led protests.
