Chief Adviser’s Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam has said that no force in the world can thwart the 13th national parliamentary elections.
He made the remarks while speaking to reporters around 11:30 am on Friday (December 12) after visiting the Sureshwar Darbar Sharif in Naria, Shariatpur.
He said the people of Bangladesh are eagerly waiting for the elections. “Those who attempt to take the law into their own hands or try to deteriorate law and order will be dealt with firmly. Anyone trying to disrupt the election with unethical demands will also be suppressed with a firm hand,” he added.
Responding to a question about the participation of the Awami League—whose organisational activities remain banned—in the election, he said, “Those who belong to the fallen autocrat’s party have withdrawn themselves from the elections.”
