Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami amir Dr Shafiqur Rahman has expressed deep concern over the shooting of Sharif Osman Hadi, an independent candidate for the Dhaka-8 constituency and the spokesperson of Inqilab Moncho.
He conveyed his reaction in a post on his verified Facebook page on Friday, December 12.
In his statement, Dr Shafiqur Rahman wrote that Hadi was shot and is currently receiving treatment at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH), as confirmed by hospital authorities.

Condemning the incident, he said that violence arising from political rivalry or differences in opinion is completely unacceptable.
Shafiqur called for a swift, impartial, and transparent investigation into the attack. He also prayed for Hadi’s quick and full recovery.
