Gold prices in Bangladesh have surged once more, with the highest-quality 22-carat gold climbing by Tk 3,442 per bhori (11.664 grams), pushing its new benchmark to Tk 2,15,597 per bhori, effective Sunday, December 14.
The latest revision – approved by the Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS) Standing Committee on Pricing and Price Monitoring – follows a sharp uptick in pere gold prices on the domestic market.
The decision was formalised during a committee meeting on Saturday and announced in a notice signed by chairman Masudur Rahman.
This marks the second price hike in just 48 hours.
On December 12, BAJUS had already raised 22-carat gold by Tk 1,050 per bhori.
Combined, these adjustments represent a total increase of Tk 4,492 per bhori in less than two days – a move that reflects mounting pressure from global and local bullion markets.
Tiered increases across gold categories
The revised pricing structure applies across multiple gold purities:
21-carat gold: Up by Tk 3,301 to Tk 2,05,800 per bhori
