President Mohammed Shahabuddin and Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus paid homage to the martyrs of the Liberation War by placing floral wreaths at the National Martyrs’ Memorial in Savar, marking Victory Day.

The President arrived at the memorial at around 6:30 am on Tuesday and laid a wreath at the main altar, paying his respects to the martyrs of the 1971 Liberation War. Later, Chief Adviser placed a wreath at the martyrs’ altar at around 7:10 am.

Following the wreath-laying, both leaders stood in solemn silence for a few moments to honour the supreme sacrifice of the heroic martyrs of the Great Liberation War.
