A fire that broke out at a plastic warehouse in Islambagh, Lalbagh, Dhaka, was brought under control on Wednesday, December 17, after approximately two and a half hours of firefighting efforts.
Inspector Anowarul Islam of the Fire Service and Civil Defence (FSCD) Media Cell confirmed the blaze erupted around 1:30 pm and was fully contained by 4:00 pm.
A total of eleven fire service units were deployed to combat the fire – four responded immediately upon receiving the alarm, and seven more were dispatched as the situation escalated.
Anowarul noted that the cause of the fire remains under investigation, and no information is yet available regarding casualties or the extent of property damage.
