Bodies of 6 Bangladeshi peacekeepers arrive

The bodies of six Bangladeshi peacekeepers, who were killed in a terrorist attack on a UN base in Sudan, arrived in Dhaka on Saturday morning, December 20.

A flight carrying the bodies landed at the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport around 11:05 am.

The martyred peacekeepers are Corporal Md Masud Rana from Natore, soldiers Md Mominul Islam and Shanto Mondal from Kurigram, soldier Shamim Reza from Rajbari, mess waiter Mohammad Jahangir Alam from Kishoreganj, and laundry worker Md Sobuj Mia from Gaibandha.

The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) in a statement on December 14 said a separatist armed group carried out a drone attack on the Kadugli Logistics Base in the Abyei area of Sudan on December 13.

In the attack, six Bangladeshi peacekeepers on duty were martyred, and nine others were injured.
