RFL Chair launches 'Khomotar Noy, Somotar Chair' campaign

RFL Chair, the houseware brand of leading business conglomerate RFL Group, has launched a public awareness campaign titled 'Khomotar Noy, Somotar Chair'. RN Paul, Managing Director of RFL Group, inaugurated the campaign at the company’s head office in Badda, Dhaka, recently.

Addressing the event, RN Paul said, “In Bangladesh’s political and social culture, the chair has long been regarded as a symbol of power. At public events, large, throne-like wooden chairs are reserved for senior leaders, high-ranking officials, and influential individuals, while ordinary people are allocated plastic chairs or benches. Through this campaign, RFL wants to convey that a chair is a place to sit, not a measure of power. Just as an ordinary voter can sit on an RFL chair, so can a public representative. There is no distinction between young and old, leaders and citizens. This message of equality is what RFL Chair wants to spread in society.”

Toukirul Islam, Deputy Managing Director of Durable Plastic Limited, said, "RFL is not taking any political stand through this campaign. We are just questioning a social practice. The objective of this campaign is to reduce the invisible distance that has been developed between public representatives and the ordinary people, at least in terms of thought. We believe that power is not reflected in the design of a chair, but rather in people’s behavior, values, and sense of responsibility. RFL chair is highlighting that idea of equality."

Esfaquel Hoque, Head of Marketing and Tonmoy Dev, Brand Manager, of RFL Houseware along with senior officials of the company, were present at the event.
