At least three people were killed and four others injured in a head on-collision between a trcuk and a CNG-run auto-rickshaw at Bhedunia village of Borhanuddin upazila in Bhola on Sunday, December 28.
The accident took place around 2:00 pm on the Bhola–Charfassion road near Manikharhat Bazar in the upazila.
The deceased were identified as Md Mizan, son of Abu Taher of Bhedunia village in Lalmohan upazila, and Riyaz Uddin. The identity of another victim could not be confirmed immediately.
Quoting locals, Borhanduddin Police Station officer-in-charge Md Moniruzzaman said that a speedy truck collided head-on with the auto-rickshaw when it was heading towards Bhola town from Lalmohan carrying passengers.
That left three people dead and four others injured on the spot.
Later, locals rescued the injured and took them to Borhanuddin Upazila Health Complex.
On information, a team of police recovered the bodies and sent them to Bhola General Hospital moruge for post-mortem examinations.
An investigation into the incident was underway, the OC added.
