The expatriate Bangladeshis sent around $2.93 billion, or approximately $293.60 crore, in remittances during the first 28 days of December, the sixth month of the current fiscal year 2025-26.
The amount is $51.50 crore more than that of the same period during the last FY 2024-25, when the country received $242.10 crore in remittances, according to Bangladesh Bank's latest data on Monday, December 29.
Around $10.48 crore remittances came home on average everyday, the data showed.
The expatriates sent $1,367.10 crore from July 1 to December 28 in the current FY, which is $193.90 crore compared to the same period of the last FY, when the country witnessed $1,173.20 crore in remittances.
