The Bangladesh Jeweler’s Association (BAJUS) has reduced the price of 22-carat gold by Tk 2,508 to Tk 2,26,923 per bhori (11.664 grams).
Besides, 21-carat gold decreased by Tk 2,392 to Tk 2,16,600 a bhori, 18-carat by Tk 1,680 to Tk 1,85,691, and gold of the traditional method by Tk 1,808 to Tk 1,54,723, respectively.
The prices have been cut following a decrease in the price of pure gold in the local market, BAJUS said in a statement on Monday, December 29.
The new prices will take effect from Tuesday, December 30.
Earlier on Sunday, December 28, the price of 22-carat gold was hiked to Tk 2,29,431 per bhori, hitting a new record in the country’s history.
