The examination to recruit assistant teachers in government primary schools will take place on January 2, which falls on the day of mourning declared after the death of BNP Chairperson and former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia.
The second phase of the test is scheduled to be held on Friday, January 2.
After the announcement of three days' state mourning following the demise of Khaleda, job seekers were doubtful about whether the exam would take place as scheduled, and rumours also spread on social media platforms in this regard.
The Directorate of Primary Education said there is no bar to holding the test on a day of state mourning, and as a result, it will be held on January 2.
No decision has, so far, come from the government to defer the exam, and it would be notified in time if any changes are brought to the schedule, SM Mahbub Alam, research officer at the directorate, told Jago News.
