The body of former Prime Minister and BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia was moved from Evercare Hospital to the house of her son, Tarique Rahman, in Gulshan 2, Dhaka, on Wednesday (December 31).
A freezer van carrying her body left the hospital at 8:53 am under tight security and reached her son’s house at 9:16 am. From there, her body will be transported to Manik Mia Avenue, where her namaz-e-janaza (funeral prayer) is scheduled for 2:00 pm. Khaleda Zia will later be laid to rest beside her husband, the late President Ziaur Rahman.
Khaleda Zia passed away around 6:00 am on Tuesday (December 30) while receiving treatment at Evercare Hospital. She was 80 years old.
The BNP chairperson had been admitted to Evercare Hospital since November 23 due to multiple health complications, including diabetes, kidney disease, and heart- and lung-related problems.
