Former Home Minister and BNP vice chairman Major General (Retd) Mahmudul Hasan passed away on Wednesday, December 31, at the age of 90.
Mahmudul Hasan, former Member of Parliament (MP) from Tangail-5 constituency, breathed his last at 3:00 pm at his residence in Dhaka due to old age complications.
He is survived by his son, daughter, numerous relatives, colleagues, admirers, and well-wishers.
Mahmudul Haque Sanu, the former member secretary of the district BNP, confirmed the news of his death.
His namaz-e-janaza will be held at Bindubasini Government Boys High School ground in Tangail after the Zohr prayers on Thursday, January 1.
In a statement expressing his condolences, BNP Vice Chairman Abdus Salam Pintu and BNP Publicity Secretary Sultan Salahuddin Tuku expressed profound shock at the death of Mahmudul Hasan.
