UNO hospitalised with severe headache, later dies

Banchharampur Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) of Brahmanbaria, Ferdous Ara, passed away on Wednesday (14 January) at 7:00 am while undergoing treatment at a hospital in Dhaka.

The matter was confirmed by Ranjan Chandra Dey, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Brahmanbaria, who said, “I am not fully aware of what exactly happened. On Tuesday, she suffered a severe headache and was taken to the hospital, where she passed away while undergoing treatment.”

Ferdous Ara was an officer of the 36th batch of the BCS Administration Cadre. Her first posting as an Assistant Commissioner was at the Bogura Deputy Commissioner’s office. She assumed the position of Banchharampur Upazila Nirbahi Officer on 9 January last year.

Although Ferdous Ara was born in Dhaka, her paternal home was in Chandpur district. Her in-laws reside in Daudkandi, Comilla. Her husband is a teacher by profession. She is survived by one daughter.
