Formal charges have been submitted against 28 individuals, including former Dhaka South City Corporation Mayor Barrister Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh and Awami League Presidium Member and former Textiles and Jute Minister Jahangir Kabir Nanak, according to the prosecution.
The charges were filed against them with the International Crimes Tribunal (ICT), in connection with alleged crimes against humanity committed during the July Mass Uprising.
Confirming the matter, prosecutor Gazi MH Tamim told reporters that the tribunal is expected to hold a hearing on the matter on Sunday, January 18.
