Housing dept DD suspended for 65 days’ absence

Mohammad Farukul Islam, Deputy Director of the Government Housing Department under the Ministry of Housing and Public Works, has been suspended after remaining absent from his workplace for 65 consecutive days without approval.

An official notification, issued from the Ministry of Housing and Public Works, confirmed the matter.

According to the notice, Farukul had been granted a 15-day overseas leave from September 25 to October 9, but he failed to take it during the approved period. Later, he applied to use the leave from October 5 to October 19, which was subsequently approved.

Despite the approved leave ending on October 19, he did not return to work and remained absent from October 20 onwards, prompting the disciplinary action.

The notification stated that his prolonged absence constitutes “absconding” under the Government Servants (Discipline and Appeal) Rules, and the suspension has been enforced accordingly.

It was also noted that Farukul will continue to receive entitled allowances during the suspension period.
