JaPa names candidates in 196 seats

The Jatiya Party (JaPa) has finalised the candidates in 196 out of 300 constituencies for the 13th parliamentary elections.

JaPa Secretary General Shamim Haider Patwary announced this at a press conference in Dhaka on Tuesday, January 20.

The party Chairman, GM Quader, and other top leaders were present at the conference.

The announcement of two candidates' names remains pending, which means the party will likely contest the upcoming national elections from 198 seats.

At the press conference, JaPa leaders said the party is taking a responsible and people-centric election approach in the country's current political reality and hoped the named candidates would play an effective role to fulfill people's expectations.
