The prices of gold have hit an all-time high in the country’s history, jumping by Tk 5,249 to Tk 2,44,128 per bhori.
Now, the price of 22-carat gold surged by Tk 5,249 to Tk 2,44,128 a bhori, 21-carat gold by Tk 4,957 to Tk 2,32,988 a bhori, 18-carat by Tk 4,316 to Tk 1,99,746, and traditional method gold by Tk 3,674 to Tk 1,63,821, respectively.
The Bangladesh Jeweler’s Association (BAJUS) decided to hike gold prices on Tuesday, January 20, attributing it to a rise in the prices of pure gold in the local market.
The new prices will take effect from Wednesday, January 21, according to the BAJUS.
Earlier on Monday, January 19, the prices of gold were increased, raising the 22-carat gold price by Tk 4,199 to Tk 2,38,879 per bhori.
