The prices of gold have hit an all-time high in the country’s history, jumping by Tk 8,339 to Tk 2,52,467 per bhori in a day.

The Bangladesh Jeweler’s Association (BAJUS) decided to hike gold prices on Wednesday, January 21, attributing it to a rise in the prices of pure gold in the local market.

The new prices will take effect from Thursday, January 22, according to the BAJUS.

Earlier on Tuesday, January 20, the prices of gold were increased, raising the 22-carat gold price by Tk 5,249 to Tk 2,44,128 per bhori.
