Ishtiaque Sadeque has resigned from his position as a director of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB).
He submitted his resignation during the BCB board meeting on Saturday and did not attend the emergency session held later in the day, he confirmed to Jago News.
Explaining his decision, Ishtiaque said, “It is true that I am resigning. In a large community like Game Development, where I currently serve, I am unable to dedicate the necessary time due to family and personal commitments. I cannot provide the level of effort required to accelerate Game Development. Therefore, I feel I am not able to do justice to this position, and that is why I am stepping down.”
He clarified that his resignation was not due to any misunderstandings or conflicts within the board. “Claims that I am leaving due to disputes, tension with board members, or personal grievances are entirely false. Everyone I worked with has done their utmost from their respective positions,” he added.
Ishtiaque also expressed confidence in his successor, saying, “I believe my successor in Game Development will be able to advance Bangladesh cricket. I will continue to fully support them, even after leaving the board.”
Ishtiaque was elected as a BCB director on August 6 last year and has resigned just six months into his first term.
