Fakhrul calls for liberal democracy, encourages fearless voting

BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on Sunday urged voters to cast their ballots fearlessly, saying the party seeks to establish a liberal democratic system in the country and come to power through elections.

He made the remarks while speaking at an election campaign meeting held at the Barunagaon Madrasa ground of  Salandar union in the district around 11:00 am.

Addressing local residents, Fakhrul listened to their grievances, including allegations of oppression, harassment, and land grabbing during previous administrations. He assured them that he has long-standing ties with the community and would work to provide permanent solutions to their problems.

“I have served you as municipal chairman and as a member of parliament. I will never betray your trust,” he said.

He also warned that any BNP member involved in wrongdoing would face strict action.

Outlining the party’s plans, Mirza Fakhrul said that under a BNP government, farmers would have easy access to fertiliser, and women would receive family cards allowing them to buy essential goods at fair prices and access healthcare services.

“The family card will be a tool of empowerment for mothers and sisters,” he added.
