Gold price hits all-time high of Tk 2.57 lakh per bhori

Gold prices have hit an all-time high in the country’s history, with 22-carat gold surging by Tk 1,574 to Tk 2,57,191 per bhori.

According to the new pricing, the price of 21-carat gold went up by Tk 1,516 to Tk 2,45,527 a bhori, 18-carat by Tk 1,823 to Tk 2,10,419, and traditional method gold by Tk 1,050 to Tk 1,72,919, respectively.

The Bangladesh Jeweler’s Association (BAJUS) decided to hike gold prices on Sunday, January 25, attributing it to a rise in pure gold prices in the local market.

The new prices will take effect from Monday, January 26, according to the BAJUS.

Earlier on Saturday, January 24, gold prices were increased, raising the 22-carat gold price by Tk 6,299 to Tk 2,55,617 per bhori, which is the highest rise so far.
